Set within the Adelaide Hills, this kitchen renovation was driven by a desire to create a space that felt both functional and timeless—one that truly belonged within the home.
The existing layout combined kitchen and laundry, yet lacked the essentials for everyday living. Limited bench space and a closed-off configuration left the space feeling constrained and impractical. The brief was to open up the kitchen, improve usability, and design a space that felt as though it had always been there.
A soft, neutral green forms the foundation of the design, layered with warm oak joinery and subtle neutral textures. A narrow shaker profile introduces a refined nod to traditional farmhouse detailing, complemented by a farmhouse sink and custom aged brass hanging rail.
Reducing the nib wall depth, functionality is seamlessly integrated throughout, with a concealed fridge and freezer, a slimline pull-out pantry, and a hidden washing machine tucked neatly behind cabinetry.
Edge details to the solid oak open shelving and tiled splashback add character, bringing a sense of charm and quiet vintage detail to the space.
The result is a warm, inviting kitchen that balances practicality with understated elegance—designed to feel effortless, enduring, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
“Our experience working with Eve Road Studio was nothing but exemplary.
We decided we needed a new kitchen as ours was well and truly dated. Bre came recommended to us by a close friend as she said, "she is exactly what you need".
My partner and I both had ideas about what we wanted but Bre made it all come together, coordinating our ideas to keep the country feel but provide space and storage while incorporating the washing machine and a linen/ laundry cupboard.
Bre’s interior design eye was perfect for what we wanted, she was spot on with picking things that we both liked and we loved her attention to detail. The whole process from start to finish was stress free.
Friends have commented that the end result is so in keeping with the style of the house. We could not be happier with the finished product and would certainly use Bre in the future for other projects.”
