Originally engaged to design the ensuite, this project quickly evolved into a full interior transformation encompassing the kitchen, dining and living areas, main bathroom/ laundry. With demolition already underway, the removal of internal walls within the 1960s cottage opened the home into a light-filled kitchen, dining and living zone designed for modern living.

Structural constraints, including an existing central support column, became an opportunity for creative resolution. Balancing new windows, tall joinery requirements and integrated banquette seating led to the cooktop being positioned within the island, supported by a Falmec cylinder rangehood, cooking & ducting is a breeze.

A neutral foundation is brought to life through playful colour moments and warm timber detailing. Central to the design is a sentimental vintage overhead cabinet, refinished in butter yellow — a meaningful client piece that anchors the space and reflects an eclectic, vintage-inspired aesthetic.

In contrast, the ensuite was envisioned as a calm retreat — a Bali-inspired sanctuary grounded in soft greens, natural textures and gentle curves, creating a restorative space connected to nature.

A project shaped by collaboration, creativity and careful resolution — resulting in interiors that feel confident, cohesive and uniquely personal.
